NAME: Dylan Petrov
RACE: Human (enhanced)
SPECIAL SKILLS: Starship Pilot/Navigator/Engineer, Hand2Hand Combat, Bio-electric Discharge on command
EQUIPMENT: PPG Pistol, Shiv, Sonic Screwdriver, small Med-Kit(Human)
SPOKEN LANGUAGES: [English]
CHARACTER BACKGROUND: Dylan Petrov is a common space bum in the business of transporting light cargo and/or passengers on his star-sloop, the Foxhound. Business has not been sterling of late, and he reluctantly agreed to take a cargo of illegal psychoactive drugs and a live cargo of unidentifed eggs through Chios space. His navigation system was fried by a plasma storm during the run, and he and his ship were taken aboard a freighter, the Century Eagle, which was making a supply run to the space colony, Necromon 6, while he made repairs. To help defray the cost of parts and passage, Petrov was allowed to work aboard the Eagle as a freight handler.
The Eagle was captured by the Black Talon, and the crew was pressed into the service of the pirates.
The Century Eagle is currently docked at Necromon 6 while its cargo is being off-loaded, and its crew has been given “shore leave.” The Foxhound (and its cargo) is still on the hanger deck while Petrov takes some time to stretch his legs. Dylan doesn’t know for sure if the Eagle is carrying slaves or potential slaves, and would rather not know, regardless. He certainly wouldn’t want anyone poking around in the Foxhound checking out its cargo...
FURTHER INFORMATION: Dylan’s home world, Arvaron, is a low-gravity (0.9 Earth Standard) world largely overlooked by the warring factions. Because of the planet’s low-gravity environment, Arvarions eventually developed lighter skeletons and an ability to breath normally under low air pressures. (They also seem to have bred for pointy ears for no reason other than its cosmetic value. Maybe the original colonists were all Star Trek fans.) The upside of this apparent frailty is that it makes them outstanding spacers – a crew of Arvarions is low mass (thus you can carry more cargo), and reduces oxygen consumption. Arvarions never get space-sick. The downside is that they are not overly strong and they break easily. To compensate, Arvarions who go to crew starships and deal with heavier, stronger races usually get a biotechnical enhancement that gives them the ability to generate an electric shock through their hands the way an electric eel does. This shock is not immediately fatal unless applied within 5cm of a vital organ. It is, however, very painful to the victim and can cause second degree burns.
