((OOC note: First time really doing any history for a character.))
Replicator history and sociology.
Replicators are a desert only race of "living machines" or "living excavators." They're not found on any specific home planet, and if they were asked, they would have no notion of a "home planet" in general. Replicator culture is very close, focusing on individual encampments and clans. Replicators are highly xenophobic, even attacking and avoiding other groups of Replicators. Their method of survival is based on the mining of a specific blue crystal which they use to repair older classes and contribute to a massive stockpile. The hording nature of the Replicator is not used for anything, because the stockpiles remain the same size over time, not being used at all.
Replicator?
The name Replicator was given to them by a small-time scientist who had been looking for rare fauna in the desert of a nameless planet. He had been looking when he noticed an odd animal shifting around among the sands. He watched as it approached, then got a shock when it changed into another similar looking animal. He was fascinated by the thing's ability to replicate the appearance of another creature, so he spoke the name Replicator into his computerized journal, hovering next to him. He might have gone for further study, if the Replicator he found hadn't mauled him and abandoned him in that desert. The computerized journal was eventually found on an old abandoned scaffold in the lower atmosphere of the planet. If the scientist had looked further into the culture of the odd beast, he would have seen a mining culture and the odd reproductive system of the Replicators.
So... Banner?
Banner is a unique case. To this date, he is the only Replicator to leave a clan of it's own free will. He left his clan and stumbled upon a freight company, which took him on board. Banner originally wanted to travel as far as possible, to look at any kind of being he could find, but he stayed on Space Station Necronom VI, due to a sudden sickness caused by leaving his old home. He fears what may happen if he attempts to go further away, so he's planted himself down on the Station. Banner is only capable of Replicating the Skybreaker, Nanos, Earthrumbler and Rollerball classes of Replicator. His normal class is the only humanoid class found in Replicator culture, because he built the class from pieces of other ones.
((I'll build it as time goes on.))
