The A.D.A Project
Project A.D.A started out as an idea for a fully mobile weapons platform for the UCE. A.D.A standing for Armored Assualt and Defense unit. It later stood for Artificial Defense and Assault unit. At
first designs the unit was to take the apearance of a rather large vessel. Usually with quadraped legs are tank treads. The weapons ideas were on the scale of cruiser and the occasional small arms. The ideas were later scrapped when the UCE decided to have the team design the unit based off of what information they knew of the X1 unit.
The team spent years designing the frame that would be used. Design after design the scales just didnt match up untill. Proffessor Terrian Vaughn came up with a female modeled frame, inspired by his daughter. The team then used the new frame for A.D.A.
Many of the team wanted to research the alloy that was used in the X1 design but the information was lost and a lost cause. The team soon began development of the alloy they would use for A.D.A. This alloy was almost featherlight in weight but tough enough to stand up to most punishment. It wasnt without its flaws though. Early stress testing showed the unit was weak and unable to withstand high falls or severe exsplosive backlash, as the frame would bend. They went back to the design board and soon had a solution to the problem. Reinforcment points were designed at key locations on the frame. On top of those were external armor pieces that would petrude from the unit. The external pieces were designed to be removed for maintenence if need be.
Birth of the Emotion Harmonic Engine
Proffessor Terrian Vaughn was the lead developer for the team. As such it was ultimately his vision that would give A.D.A a face. As such he was also the lead designer of the core that would power A.D.A. For years he spent all his time locked up in his lab, going over designs and running tests on what he had created. None of the designs satisfied him.
He was assisted by his daughter Theresa Vaughn in recent rears of the designs. She had a brilliant mind when it came to prototype engines and power systems for humanoid cybernetic frames. After a year or two she had the design of an engine that was powered by a living heart. This symbiotic core was decided to be used in A.D.A, after a successfull phase of testing.
After a few low grade tests they decided to step up the testing. During what was a routine test, the core suddenly overloaded as the heart gave out on them. This resulted in a blast of energy that nearly destroyed the lab. Theresa was fataly wounded from the blast and died in her fathers arms. This sent Terrian Vaugh into a fit of despaired rage and he began destroying the engines in the lab. As he held the engine his daughter made, the last remaining one, he cast a glance at her oncemore and set it back down on the table. They had needed a strong willed heart to run the core. Proffessor Vaugh then used his daughters own heart as the new prototype for the core.
After a few tests he locked the core within a small pod with connectors and took it to the lab. The crew watched in awe as this new core brought A.D.A's systems to life. The core ran so well and had such a high output that it had increased the teams fevor to further improve A.D.A.
The final touch was added as the team installed the memory cluster into the frames skull. They had used a donors brain as the staple for the oganic parts of the cluster. Proffessor Vaugh had brought it in the next day saying it was donated. Little did the staff themselves know that the brain was also his daughters and was used in hopes of preserving her memories within A.D.A. Not to mention add real emotions to A.D.A's functions. It had also served as the final key to running the core an thus further enhanced it.
Chios and the close of Project A.D.A
At the time of the various virtual testings of the units functions and features Chios had caught wind of this units capability and had smuggled a few of their own into the science team. As such they observed the units creation and participated in it as well. All of her workings and functions being learned by them. As she neared the final stages of development the Chios team decided that this would be the best time to take her.
After A.D.A had been skinned with a synthetic compound and activated for a small test run the team decided this was the moment of action. Proffesor Terrian Vaughn was standing infront of her with a grin. His teams work finally finished as A.D.A blinked at him. Her programming told her he was father. As she stared at him her emotion engines had activated and she smiled. The feeling of happiness flowing throug her systems. But this chaged as Terrian Vaughn's face soon twisted into a look of pain. He reached for her and grabbed ahold of her arm. His eyes locked with her as she was filled with confusion. He muttered the only words he ever spoke to her while she was awake, "Be free.. my daughter.." And with this he slide down to the floor slowly bleeding to his death. The three Chios members were all that stood in the room now. The rest of the science team all dead or dieing.
One of the members stepped forward and demmanded that she come with them. She questioned them and asked them why they had to kill the science officers in the lab. When they had replied that it was not her concern she began to get angry. They once more demanded that she come with them and she refused. One attempted to take her by the arm and she reached out with her free hand and snapped the other mans arm without much effort. He screamed in pain and fell to the floor in pain. She then rushed forward, her systems overloaded with the emotion of hatred and anger, and kicked te other crushing several of his ribs in the process. The other fired at her and missed as she leapt to the side then in an instant had her hands around the mans throat. She glared at him with tear filled eyes as the mans life left him. The other member fired a shot from his gun and she rolled out of its trajectory. The bullet then hit a container containing a volitile compound and ignited. Th exsplosion ocked the whole station that the project took place on.
A.D.A's vision cleared after the the exsplosion to find Proffessor Vaughn dead in her lap. She regarded him with a cold expression. All her memories of the past incident locked away as well as the memories of her creators and Project A.D.A in whole. As her last programmed instructions were she entered into a small pod near the rear of the lab. Once inside it activated and put her systems into a sleeping state. The pod ejected from the station and it errupted into a large ball of flames.
Chios Military Corps.
A.D.A was soon found by Chios operatives searching for the lost science team. A small becon was placed with A.D.A's armor so Chios coul locat her. From there they took her in and reactivated her. At first activation she functioned properly. But seemed to keep questioning about a signal eminating from an unknown source. As much to little was known about her multitude of scanning systems aside from the basics.
As such she was a keen hacking machine and could interface with any system wirelessly as well as tap into any system and bounce through ships carrier waves to get to a terminal in another system. As well as her infiltration modes. Her lithe frame allowed for acrobatic movement and manuverability. As it was needed, her frame was not as durable as the larger assault cyborgs. Her assault protocals focused more on close quarters combat than ranged but could switch and adapt if ranged was the only option.
After she was examined and deemed fit for use she was introduced to X1 at the time. The team found it interesting how her eyes never moved from X1 once he entered the room. What the didnt know was the signal she was detecting was eminating from X1. It was like a tracking signal of sorts that emitted once he disapeared. The A.D.A team had installed her with a multitude of scanners and as such one of them picked up the signal. Since then she has been recruited into the CMC and shown promise in her duties.
After a time her emotion features were unlocked after tampering with her systems, when she was slightly disabled, by uncertified personnel. And such she went beserk, percieving everyone as a threat to her and lashed out at fellow CMC officers. The arrival X2 and the trauma caused to her systems from the impact of his blows allowed a lapse in her security features and allowed X2 to transmit her overide codes, shutting her down. As such she is still getting use to her emotions and is often found slightly confused but as always she continues to perform her duties well within the CMC.
